It's prom season once again here in the UK, and I'm excited to share this recent shoot with my readers. I had the pleasure of photographing Ella in the charming market town of Helmsley, North Yorkshire, on an overcast spring evening.
Ella looked absolutely stunning in her teal slit-leg prom dress. We captured a wide variety of shots as we strolled around the town, making the most of Helmsley's historic buildings, such as Helmsley Castle, as our backdrop. The town's architecture provided a perfect frame for Ella's elegant ensemble, adding a touch of timeless beauty to our photos.
One of the highlights of Helmsley is its vibrant flowers, which always add a wonderful splash of color to photographs. Despite the overcast weather, my powerful strobe and large softbox helped bring warmth and a lovely glow to the images, making the colors pop even more.
Ella's posing was exceptional; she flowed naturally from one pose to the next with minimal direction. Her ease in front of the camera gave many of the final photos a professional "model" vibe, showcasing her natural grace and poise.
To finish off the shoot, Ella changed into a more relaxed outfit for some additional shots. Her hot pink off-the-shoulder top paired with casual denim jeans and trainers was a fantastic look. We even made use of her coat, which she had brought along for warmth between locations. The casual attire allowed us to capture a different, more laid-back side of her personality.
Creating a set of prom photos that families will cherish is something I truly love. I know both Ella and her family are thrilled with the results of this shoot. The combination of Ella's elegance, the historic charm of Helmsley, and the beautiful floral backdrops made for a memorable and successful session
